Does detention actually serve a purpose?

Do you think detention actually changes a student's behavior or is it ineffective? Please respond by Monday, January 19, 2015.

  1. yarielpena yes cause students can learn from their own mistakes. Though surprisingly some just don't get it.

  2. I think that it does because it teaches them thier mistake and they wll probaly will never do it again unless they got dention for no reason. In schools today some scholls do that teachers give detention for no reason they need to give the students some time to explain themselfs.#miss u ms.lucena

  4. IT FORCES KIDS TO STAY AFTER SCHOOL IF THEY DO SOMETHING BAD OR TALK INAPPROPRIATELY. WELL SOME KIDS WILL DO IT BUT SOME KIDS WILL NOT DO IT.R

    1. I think it does not make a difference because people don't care about having DT because it's not like there are punished.
